Privacy & Consent Statement

This Privacy & Consent Statement applies to the Seed + Stone Coptic Orthodox Journal App (“the App”), operated by Seed + Stone (“we”, “our”, “us”).

By creating an account, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy & Consent Statement and consent to the collection, storage, processing, and use of your information as described below.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect and process the following categories of information:

Account Information

• Name
• Email address
• Authentication credentials
• Subscription and billing status

User Content

Information voluntarily submitted by users within the App, including:

• journal entries,
• prayers,
• reflections,
• gratitude notes,
• bookmarks,
• and other written or saved content.

Technical & Usage Information

• Device information
• IP address
• Browser and operating system information
• App interaction and usage analytics
• Error logs and security monitoring data

We only collect information reasonably necessary for the operation, maintenance, security, and improvement of the App.

2. Data Storage & Hosting Infrastructure

The App is built and hosted using Base44 infrastructure and services.

Application data is stored using Supabase, which utilises PostgreSQL database technology and cloud infrastructure providers, including enterprise-grade hosting services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Data may be processed or stored on servers located outside Australia.

By using the App, you consent to the transfer, storage, and processing of your information in jurisdictions where these infrastructure providers operate.

3. Security Measures

We implement technical, administrative, and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information from:

• unauthorised access,
• disclosure,
• misuse,
• alteration,
• loss,
• or destruction.

Security measures may include:

• encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS),
• authentication and access controls,
• database security rules,
• restricted administrative access,
• infrastructure monitoring,
• and secure cloud hosting environments.

User journal content is intended to remain private to the authenticated account holder unless explicitly shared by the user through App functionality.

While security measures are implemented, no platform, application, database, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Use of the App is at the user’s own risk.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We may engage third-party providers to support App functionality, including:

• authentication services,
• cloud hosting,
• analytics,
• subscription management,
• payment processing,
• notification delivery,
• and infrastructure monitoring.

These providers may access limited information solely as required to perform services on our behalf.

We do not sell personal journal content or user-written reflections to advertisers or unrelated third parties.

5. User Responsibility

Users are responsible for:

• maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials,
• using secure passwords,
• and ensuring unauthorised persons do not access their account or devices.

Users should avoid storing highly sensitive personal, financial, medical, or legal information within the App unless they accept the inherent risks associated with digital storage.

6. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain user information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• provide the App,
• comply with legal obligations,
• resolve disputes,
• enforce agreements,
• and maintain system integrity and backups.

Users may request account deletion and removal of associated personal information by contacting us at the email address below.

Certain residual backup or archived copies may remain temporarily retained in secure systems where required for operational, legal, or security purposes.

7. Analytics & Service Improvement

We may use de-identified or aggregated technical and usage data to:

• improve App functionality,
• diagnose technical issues,
• monitor performance,
• and enhance user experience.

We do not use private journal content for advertising purposes.

8. Users Under 16 Years of Age

The App is designed to provide faith-based journaling, reflection, planning, and personal wellbeing support. The content is not intended to be harmful, explicit, or age-restricted in nature and may be used by individuals of various ages with appropriate discretion and supervision.

However, the App collects and stores personal information and user-generated content through cloud-based infrastructure. For this reason, users under 16 years of age must obtain permission from a parent or legal guardian before creating an account or submitting personal information through the App.

By using the App, users confirm that:

• they are at least 16 years of age; or
• they have obtained permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the App.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise minors’ use of digital platforms and personal journaling tools.

If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a user under 16 years of age without appropriate parental or guardian consent, we reserve the right to suspend or remove the associated account and delete relevant information where reasonably practicable.

We do not knowingly sell, profile, or use minors’ personal journal content for advertising purposes.

9. Changes to This Statement

We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy & Consent Statement at any time.

Updated versions will become effective upon publication within the App or associated platforms.

Continued use of the App following any updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Statement.
